Dynamic groups

Dynamic grouping
of corporate equipment

Manage specific sets of equipment

Dynamic groups in the Proget MDM system simplify the oversight of company equipment, increase security, and improve IT productivity. How does it work? Each group you create will have criteria you specify. Once saved, all devices that meet these criteria will automatically be assigned to the selected group. This allows you to apply specific policies, profiles, and applications to them quickly and conveniently.

Assign configurations efficiently and flexibly

  • Automate the mass deployment of configurations – once added to a group, devices will immediately receive their assigned policies, profiles, and applications.
  • Configure yet unregistered or unassigned devices – groups can include equipment already registered in the system and those yet to be added. Proget also allows you to fully configure a device without assigning it to a user.
  • Personalize the configuration for employees – customize company policies and settings for different devices belonging to a single user, e.g., by implementing various security policies depending on the device manufacturer.

Group devices according to your own criteria

As a console administrator, you can specify grouping rules via filters, using predefined ones – or creating your own with an intuitive query language. Filters can include parameters related to device data (e.g., model, operating system) or user labels. Proget also allows different criteria to be combined to create advanced queries tailored to an organization’s requirements. Once a filter is set, the system adds and removes devices from the group automatically according to its criteria, eliminating the need to manage each change manually.

Update groups based on external services

Dynamic groups can also be updated based on data retrieved from external solutions such as Active Directory. For example, changes to user attributes in the AD catalog automatically affect the assignment of a device to the appropriate group on the Proget server, resulting in adjustments to configurations and policies without the need for administrator intervention.
