The challenge – managing rugged devices
Zarys is a leading provider of a wide range of products for the medical sector, constantly looking for innovative solutions. The client needed a tool that would standardize their mobile device configuration and ensure their business data’s security. They were also looking for a way to effectively manage their ruggedized devices (75 ZEBRA-branded storage terminals) to contain only the necessary software and perform their functions as the company intended.
The solution – Proget system
Using security policies and profiles in Proget has made it possible to unify equipment configuration and change it collectively on all devices (or groups of them). The address book function has made it possible to send consistent lists of business contacts. In addition, the automatic installation of necessary applications via the console (including antivirus) has raised the security level of devices and data.
The system also allowed administrators to respond remotely to the loss of a device – with the ability to lock the equipment and erase company information. Implementing storage terminals in Kiosk mode reduced the need to adjust their settings constantly and accelerated the process of launching new rugged devices.
