The challenge – remote management and compliance

The mission of Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna (Łódź Metropolitan Railway) is to provide safe, efficient, and comfortable transport for the residents of the Łódź voivodeship and neighboring areas. It is also the first domestic passenger carrier to join the Zielona Kolej (Green Railway) program – it uses traction energy from renewable energy sources to power its trains.

ŁKA needed a solution that would enable centralised management of the phones and tablets used by its employees – train drivers and managers who operate throughout the Łódź agglomeration and surrounding areas. Due to the fleet’s dispersion, the tool should enable remote configuration of company devices and the installation and updating of specialised dedicated applications. An additional requirement was to ensure compliance with applicable industry regulations and internal security policies.

The solution – Proget system

The on-premise version of Proget was implemented in the customer’s environment. This provided the company with a platform for consistent, remote device management from a single console. The IT department can also collectively install and update applications, including dedicated ones not available on the Play Store, which significantly streamlines administrators’ work and reduces the need for physical intervention with the equipment.

The system also enabled the enforcement of security policies, including the requirement to set and change passwords. In the event of loss or theft of a device, Proget allows it to be remotely locked or company data to be deleted from it, protecting sensitive information from unauthorized access.
