The challenge – control over a dispersed fleet
Cognor S.A. is a leading Polish steel producer and supplier of high-quality metallurgical products, comprising eight production facilities. The company is also the only domestic manufacturer of stainless and heat-resistant steel and armored sheets, including those used in Rosomak wheeled armored vehicles.
The organization’s main problem was managing the growing number of mobile devices used by office and field employees across branches dispersed throughout the country. The fleet consists of smartphones and tablets of various brands (Samsung, Zebra, Egotek, PointMobile, Lenovo, Huawei).
The company wanted to implement a single tool for remote, centralized device configuration, status monitoring, and application control. The organization also wanted to prepare equipment for work quickly, perform backups, access devices remotely, protect data, and provide configuration flexibility for individual branches.
The solution – Proget system
The implementation of the Proget MDM system has enabled the centralization of management of an extensive fleet of mobile devices throughout Cognor S.A. Administrators have gained tools for remote data wiping in the event of equipment theft, distribution of production applications, backup creation, and configuration of email accounts and network settings (APN).
The system also enabled rapid support for field users via remote desktop, optimizing the IT department’s work. The security policies feature increased data protection and ensured that devices complied with the company’s internal rules.
